Empowering girls and women as mothers

The project builds sexual reproduction knowledge, understanding including contraception and parenting skills in 100 students and 200 women. Training will be implemented in 39 different villages in our catchment area. Parents' lack of knowledge about contraception and parenting skills in adult life leads to their children not being prepared for life as young teenagers. Taznin Municipality has one of the highest prevalence of HIV in the country.

Educating a Girl, Educating a Nation - Sierra Leone

Across the region, 9 million girls between the ages of 6 and 11 will never go to school, compared to 6 million boys, according to UIS data. By the time they reach adolescence, the deprivation rate for girls is 36% compared to 32% for boys. (UNESCO, 2021). Girls' education is the main priority. The project will help by providing resources for girls' education, including books and school supplies, mentoring, computer training, food, COVID-19 support and transportation.

With the advent of COVID-19 coupled with traditional issues that have marginalized girls and women around the world including Uganda since March 2020. The vulnerability of girls and women has increased to the greatest extent. This was confirmed from a small survey conducted by the Kole Intellectual Forum from February to September 2020. When she enrolled 20 girls in her designed home economics program. 50% reported only on 9/30/2020 and 50% balance was lost due to this.
